My Memories of WWI
In 1967 Robert Spiers Robertson entered a Lincolnshire essay competition with his story:
"My Memories of the First World War".

of his wife Beatrice and their four daughters.

Promotion
From 26th September 1917 RS Robertson was appointed to the rank of Second Lieutenant.
This is the original document and transcript.
William Percy Shaw, buried in the St. Pol British Cemetery, St. Pol-Sur-Ternoise, France
William Percy Shaw
Served in the Army Service Corps attached to the Tank Corps. He died 21st November 1918 aged 33
and is buried in the St. Pol British Cemetery.

at The Grand Hotel, Charing Cross, Glasgow. Interesting menu, some dishes named after places 'visited' by the battalion during overseas action.

Robert Spiers Robertson was a Prisoner of War from late May 1918 to December 1918.

  • The Outlook - November 1918
    November 1918 - magazine produced "in-house" by the prisoners for the prisoners. First (& I suppose the last!) such magazine.
  • Stralsund Postcards
    Postcards presumably bought during or after confinement of RS Robertson as a POW, possibly as a souvenir to take back to Scotland.

    Letter dated 11th June 1919 exonerating Lt.RS Robertson, Machine Gun Corps., from any blame regarding capture by the German Army.
